Moon Owl is the term that refers to Owls who show up during a full moon. Traditionally the term is used in relation to the Barn Owl, but in this case I have applied it to an Eastern Grass Owl. Distinguishable from a Barn Owl by it's longer legs, Eastern Grass Owls often hunt by hopping through long grass and it is quite rare to see them in flight. This is an original watercolour painting which celebrates the beauty and magic of one of my most beloved bird species.
