Watercolour Birds Series 2019

This series began when I started to observe more birdlife in my garden. We had spent 3 yrs planting native bird and insect attracting plants in the hope that we would boost the gardens' ecosystem. Sure enough I watched our range of bird visitors increase and simultaneously my own inspiration to paint them was sparked, thus began the journey into Painting bird studies and learning about my feathered neighbours and their role in our backyard ecosystem. My one rule for this series was to only paint what I saw in our garden.
